Ark Foundation of Africa Essay ContestDeadline: April 30, 2002 Posted by Request: The Ark Foundation of Africa invites students to submit their original essays answering the question "If Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were alive today, what would he say about the global HIV/AIDS pandemic as it relates to sub-Saharan Africa?" The contest is open to all students ages 12 to 17. Students are required to write an original 400-600 word essay. Submissions will be judged based on originality, expressiveness, creativity, and clarity. Prizes include cash awards as well as all-expense trips to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in East Africa.
